Community Consultations
GCTA began scheduling council and community consultations across the Great Northern Peninsula to help shape the design, development, and long‑term vision of the 1000 km Great Coastal Trail.
Each session includes a project overview, community mapping exercise, small‑group discussions on tourism, environmental protection, youth engagement, and enterprise, and dedicated time for storytelling and heritage collection so residents can share local knowledge, photos, and histories. Outcomes are captured in short Community Summary Reports, ensuring that local priorities, opportunities, and concerns directly inform route planning, funding, and long‑term stewardship decisions.
