The Coastal Current and Heritage Collection

The GCTA launched The Coastal Current, a bimonthly newsletter offering behind‑the‑scenes updates on trail development, milestones, and upcoming community consultations along the Great Northern Peninsula.

The first edition invited residents to share stories of how their towns, coves, and harbours were named, positioning these community histories as “the lifeblood of the trail” and the living heritage woven into every kilometre. It also introduced the Great Coastal Heritage Collection and the Community Voices segment, featuring stories like the Sacred Cod monument in Port au Choix as symbols of resilience, culture, and shared provincial identity
