Continued Community Consultations
Through the spring of 2026, GCTA continued council and community consultations in three regional clusters across the Great Northern Peninsula, deepening local engagement and ground‑truthing existing trails. In the East cluster (Roddickton–Bide Arm, Englee, Conche, Croque, Grandois–St. Juliens, Main Brook), the team met with councils to introduce the project, hear early ideas, answer questions, and document trails that do not appear clearly in satellite imagery. In the Straits cluster, GCTA worked with the St. Barbe Development Association to host a community session for 15 invited communities, while in the North cluster the team joined the Great Northern Chamber of Commerce event in St. Anthony, where the Executive Director became a Chamber Director to support long‑term regional economic development tied to the trail.
